"Alongside my work as a lettering designer I have had an ongoing interest in textiles, creating one-off hand-tufted rugs and wallhangings, often incorporating lettering as part of their design.

Since my day-to-day work for commercial clients mostly involves designing in black and white on drawing board and computer, working with textiles for me is a wonderful escape into a less virtual world of colour and texture on a larger scale. And rather than being dictated to by the concerns and brief of a client, I freely pursue themes and words of personal significance." -Carol Kemp
