"Color Rings by Israeli designer Itay Ohaly are pieces of jewellery carved from layers of coloured paint applied to a wooden table.
Ohaly spends months applying a layer of acrylic paint per day, then slices through the thick surface to create the raw material for the rings.

"The project 'Come Rain or Shine' is comprised of two products; walls and floors in wood, and tiles of felt in plaster or concrete.
They both work in conjunction with the natural elements - allowing nature itself to bring pattern and decoration to exterior or interior surfaces.
Through employing the effects of nature as a means to mark a surface, the potential for the natural elements is facilitated to play a part in creating decoration - this results in organic embellishment without harm to the environment.
This work lends itself both to exterior walls where they have exposure to the outdoors enabling the patterns to evolve over time, or pre-weathered decorative surfaces as a feature within the interior."

"It appears a week can't go by without someone seeing Jesus in a baked potato, and it's this phenomenon of subjective 'seeing' that inspired me to pursue this project.
With this in mind I designed a set of pavement slabs, each bearing a slight depression to indicate its 'mark'. To the casual eye each slab appears perfectly flat, yet when exposed to rain the extra surface water trapped in the slab's depressions results in a slower rate of evaporation allowing the slab's 'mark' to appear.
Using this modular system subtle typography can be made to appear using the changing environment."

In the ‘Hot Products’ section, where designers were asked to make energy saving proposals for the home, these concrete panels stood out for their simplicity and style. The panels create a false wall, behind which an insulating material can be placed and they are designed to be decorated with your own choice of wallpaper print."

The urn sculptures are a contemporary re-invention of the classical urn-on-plinth. Instead of traditional stonework, the flattened forms are cast in industrial grey or white concrete giving the sculptures an edgy, modern twist. The surface imagery has architectural references - particularly the voluptuous garlands and swag and drop detail of 18th century facades which, instead of being sculpted, are indented on a perfectly flat surface. Uniting baroque-style decoration with hardcore concrete creates an interesting and ironic juxtaposition.
This new collection evolved with reference to both 18th century and modernist architecture where relief surface motifs were often applied to building facades. The swag-drape frieze combines associations with the Baroque, through the use of figurative imagery, with a sense of starkness and austerity typical of much contemporary architecture.
The sculptural character of the swag motifs adds a further dimension and
in place of traditional modelling techniques, casts are taken directly from swags of silk taffeta, giving the imagery an edge of raw, ultra-realism as well as creating an unexpected reversal.
The individual tiles, placed in any order, create a continuous frieze of indented, undulating swags. The slight misalignment at the junction between swags brings an element of unpredictability and friction to the sequence.
